Health content marketing writer | 2U, Inc.
(2019 – present)
As a health content writer for education management company 2U, I pitch story ideas, report and research articles, and conduct interviews with university faculty and other experts to create content for 2U’s partner schools – primarily for nursing, public health and pharmacy graduate degree programs. I collaborate with editors and designers to craft articles that are thoughtful and relevant, and I oversee project management for each of my pieces — from pitch to publication. In addition to writing for 2U’s health programs, I have also written on behalf of 2U’s business, data science and law programs, as well as 2U’s in-house blog.

Reporter | The Baltimore Sun
(2015 – 2019)
I most recently covered health and breaking news during more than three years at the Sun. I highlighted research coming out of Baltimore’s major medical institutions, while balancing breaking news responsibilities and publishing multiple articlesdaily. I began at the Sun as a features reporter covering the region’s food scene, including daily stories, a weekly column and cover stories for the paper’s Taste section. I used social media to share and monitor news, appeared in videos to accompany stories and produced multimedia including photos and galleries.

I covered minority business, restaurants, retail, marketing, and sportswear for the BBJ. I wrote multiple web posts daily, plus weekly print content, and at least one in-depth print cover story for print each month.
